What we store
- Your account: your username, display name and password (stored only as a secure hash, never as you typed it).
- Your email, if you gave one. It's optional. We use it only to send a link when you forget your password.
- Whether you're under 13. Sign-up asks "How old are you?" with two choices, 13 or older or under 13. We keep only that answer, never a birth date. Accounts for under-13s keep no email, and any ads they see are non-personalised and marked as for children.
- Your game: your house and rooms, items, coins, tickets, scores, friends, trades and goals.
- Chat: what you say in home chat and in messages to other players, so they can read it, and reports about chat, so we can deal with abuse.
- Anti-cheating signals: a scrambled (hashed) form of your network address and of a device id, used to stop one person running lots of accounts. We don't keep the address itself.
Cookies
- Login cookie (
capsule_session): keeps you logged in. Without it the game can't work. - Device cookie (
capsule_device): a random id for the anti-cheating check above. - Google ad cookies, when ads are on. The Odds and Ends Machine can show an ad from Google if you choose to watch one for a ticket. Google and its partners may then use cookies or similar tech to show and measure ads. How Google uses that information: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. In the UK, EU and Switzerland you'll be asked first whether you agree.
What we don't do
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it except with the services that run the game (our hosting, the email service for password resets, and Google for ads when ads are on).
Deleting your account
Open Settings (the gear) and choose Delete account. That removes your account, your house, your items and your email straight away. It can't be undone.
